Logo design services

A logo is the way your name is written, or the symbol, that people recognise on a sign, on packaging, in an app icon and in a social media feed. Our logo design service starts from scratch: we look at what competitors already use, show two or three directions to choose from and deliver the logo in versions for light and dark backgrounds and small sizes. A standalone logo starts at $500.

Types of logo, and whether AI can make one

There are three kinds of logo. A wordmark is the name, refined until it becomes a graphic: in the Serund logo the curve of the u carries on into the n. A symbol works without words: the four-pointed star of Fudis lives on the app icon, stickers and packaging. A combination mark puts the symbol and the name together, and each can also be used on its own.

A logo is tested in the details, not in a presentation: can you read it in a 16-pixel browser icon, does it hold up on a dark background, in one colour and in a round avatar? So we look at the logo at real sizes and on real touchpoints — a box, a sign, an app icon — not just on a white page.

An AI logo generator will give you dozens of logo-like images in a minute, which is a handy way to gather references and find out what you like. But it gives you a picture rather than a precise vector, it doesn’t check whether the mark resembles someone else’s trademark, and it doesn’t build a system around the logo: versions, colours, typefaces and rules. If the logo is for a real business, a designer still does that part — the system around the logo is covered on our visual identity page.

When you need it

  • You’re starting a company or a new line of business and don’t have a logo yet.
  • Your logo was made “for now” at launch, and it’s hard to read on a sign, in an app icon or in a social media avatar.
  • Your name exists only in Latin letters, but you also work with a Russian-speaking audience and need a Cyrillic version built on the same rules.
  • You tried an AI generator or an online logo maker and realised the image is a long way from a working logo.
  • Your brand looks dated or blends in with competitors, and the logo is due for a refresh.

What’s included

  • A look at competitors and the audience: which symbols, colours and typefaces are already taken in your niche, so you don’t blend in.
  • Two or three logo directions to choose from, each with an idea behind it rather than just a different font.
  • Refinement of the chosen direction: the geometry of the symbol, the letterforms, proportions and spacing.
  • Versions for light and dark backgrounds and, where needed, horizontal and vertical layouts and a one-colour version.
  • Checks at small sizes: favicon, app icon, round avatar.
  • Vector source files and raster files for print and digital.

Pricing

  • Logofrom $500

A symbol or a wordmark: two or three directions to choose from, refinement of the chosen one, versions for light and dark backgrounds, source files.

  • Logo and identityfrom $1,500

The logo plus colours, typefaces, graphic elements, social media templates and a short guide, so every layout looks like one brand.

  • Identity with packagingfrom $3,000

The identity, an original illustration or mascot, packaging and touchpoints with print-ready files.

The price of a logo depends on whether you need a separate symbol, how many versions and languages of the name there are and how complex the drawing is. A licence for a paid typeface is separate, and we name it before we start. We give an exact quote after a brief.

How we work

  1. 01. Brief and competitors

We look at the business, the audience and where the logo will live, review competitors’ logos and agree what to avoid.

  2. 02. Directions

We show two or three directions, each with its idea and examples on touchpoints, and choose one together.

  3. 03. Refinement

We fine-tune the geometry and the letters and test the logo at small sizes, on dark backgrounds and in one colour.

  4. 04. Files

We prepare the logo versions and source files for print and digital and hand everything over.

What we’ve done

All work
  1. Branding and identity

An identity for a family memory platform: a wordmark where one letter continues another

The idea of “continuing each other”: the curve of the u becomes the curve of the n. Each letter keeps its own character, but one line joins them, like one person’s story becoming part of what the whole family knows.

  2. Branding and identity

An identity for an affordable burger joint: a «Й» crowned with a bun and a style that simply makes you smile

We wrote the name in Cyrillic, big and slanted: «КАЙФ» sounds louder than the Latin spelling and conveys the mood at once.

  3. Branding and identity

A brand for a tech-driven food delivery service: calm confidence instead of shouting

The logo is set in Greta, a text serif: the serifs signal reliability, and the italic i with a star is the moment of joy when the order arrives.

  4. Branding and identity

An identity for Korean chicken wings delivery: a chicken drawn from the taegeuk and a pattern of the flag’s trigrams

The starting point is the name itself. In Korean, fried chicken is literally 프라이드 치킨, “peuraideu chikin”. We gave the name back its Korean spelling, which sits next to the logo on every touchpoint.

  5. Branding and identity

An identity for a premium burger restaurant: a burger reduced to a circle and two lines

The symbol is a burger reduced to the minimum: a circle cut by two lines into bun, patty and bun. It’s recognisable at a glance and needs no extra detail.

Frequently asked questions

How much does logo design cost?

A standalone logo starts at $500: two or three directions to choose from and versions for light and dark backgrounds. A logo with a full visual identity starts at $1,500, and an identity with packaging at $3,000. We give an exact quote after a brief.

Can I create a logo with an AI logo generator?

You can get an image that looks like a logo, and that’s useful for finding references. But a working logo needs a clean vector and versions for an icon, a dark background and one-colour print, and a generator doesn’t check whether the mark copies someone else’s. If you plan to register a trademark, have its similarity to existing registered marks checked separately by a trademark attorney.

What’s included in logo design?

A look at competitors, two or three directions to choose from, refinement of the chosen one, versions for light and dark backgrounds and small sizes, and source files for print and digital. Colours, typefaces, graphics and rules for all your other layouts belong to visual identity.

What’s the difference between a logo and a brand identity?

A logo is one element; a brand identity is the system around it: palette, typefaces, patterns, illustrations and the rules for combining them. Without that system even a good logo can’t stop your business card, your social posts and your sign looking like three different companies.

Do I need a separate symbol if I have a wordmark?

If your brand lives in an app and on social media, usually yes: a long name can’t be read in an icon. In the KaifBurger logo the accent over the Cyrillic letter Й became a sesame bun, and that letter works on its own — on stickers, the app icon and the avatar.

Can a logo work in two alphabets?

Yes. For Fudis we made Latin and Cyrillic versions built on the same rules, so the brand sounds equally confident in the app, in ads and on the street. We include the second version in the estimate.

How long does logo design take?

It depends on the number of directions, the complexity of the mark and how quickly approvals go. We name the timeline after a brief, together with the estimate.
