Ecommerce website development

An online store is a website where shoppers find a product, pay for it and choose delivery themselves, while the order goes straight into your records. Our ecommerce website development is end to end: a catalogue with filters, cart and checkout, online payments, delivery services, product import and sync with your accounting system. A store on a ready-made ecommerce platform starts at $1,500.

Ready-made platform or a custom build

Most stores don’t need a commerce system written from scratch: catalogue, cart, payments and delivery have long been solved in ready-made platforms and CMSs with a store module. The budget is better spent on an easy catalogue, clear product pages and a link to your accounting. Custom development is justified when your sales logic doesn’t fit the standard: a product configurator, wholesale prices, several warehouses and roles.

The price of a store depends less on the number of products than on where they come from and where orders go. Loading a catalogue from a spreadsheet is a clear-cut task. Syncing prices and stock with an accounting or warehouse system that has no documented exchange is a separate project, and we include it in the estimate up front.

If you already sell on marketplaces, your own store doesn’t replace them — it adds a channel where the customer stays yours: with contact details, repeat orders and no platform commission. That channel needs promotion — search, ads, email — and it’s worth planning before launch.

When you need it

  • You sell through social media and messengers, orders get lost in chats, and stock is tracked in a spreadsheet.
  • You sell on marketplaces and want your own sales channel with a customer base and repeat orders.
  • Your old store is awkward on phones, loads slowly, and the catalogue is updated by hand.
  • You need prices and stock to come from your accounting or warehouse system, and orders to flow back.
  • Wholesale clients need their own prices, an account area and repeat orders in a couple of clicks.

What’s included

  • Catalogue structure, filters by attributes and a product page: photos, description, variants, availability.
  • A cart and checkout with as few steps as possible, and a customer account with order history.
  • Online payments through a payment provider and delivery services with shipping cost calculation.
  • Catalogue import from a spreadsheet or accounting system; exchange of prices, stock and orders with your accounting or warehouse system as needed.
  • Order notifications to your CRM, email or Telegram, and order status emails to the customer.
  • An SEO base for the catalogue: clean category URLs, meta tag templates, product structured data, an XML sitemap.
  • Ecommerce analytics: which products people view, add to the cart and buy.

Pricing

  • Quick launch$1,500–3,000

A ready-made ecommerce platform, standard payments and delivery, limited catalogue import, forms and analytics. One design, two rounds of revisions.

  • Business growth$4,000–10,000

Custom catalogue and product page design, attribute filters, a customer account, price and stock sync with your accounting system, several delivery options.

  • Custom project$15,000–40,000+

Non-standard sales logic: wholesale prices and roles, several warehouses, a product configurator, complex sync with accounting. We start with a design phase.

The price is driven by where the catalogue comes from and by integrations with accounting, payments and delivery — more than by the number of products. Platform subscriptions, hosting, payment provider fees and delivery rates are separate, and we name them before we start. We give an exact quote after a brief.

How we work

  1. 01. Brief and catalogue review

We look at your range, where prices and stock come from, how you take payments and deliver today, and choose a platform.

  2. 02. Catalogue and prototype

We design the categories and filters, the product page and the shopper’s path from cart to payment.

  3. 03. Development and integrations

We design and build the store, load the catalogue, and connect payments, delivery and the exchange with your accounting system.

  4. 04. Test orders and launch

We run complete purchases with different payment and delivery options, set up analytics and hand over access.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an ecommerce website cost?

On a ready-made platform with standard payments and delivery — $1,500–3,000. With custom catalogue design, a customer account and sync with your accounting system — $4,000–10,000; with complex sales logic — from $15,000. Platform subscriptions and payment fees are separate.

Can I build an online store for free?

You can put together a storefront on a website builder’s free plan, but design, catalogue loading, payments and delivery will still take time or money. If you have few products and are happy to figure things out yourself, start with a builder and move to development when you hit its limits.

Can the store connect to our accounting system?

Yes: products, prices and stock flow from the accounting system to the store, and orders flow back. The complexity depends on how your system is configured and how much it has been customised, so we estimate the exchange after looking at it.

Should I sell through my own store or a marketplace?

It isn’t either-or. A marketplace brings a flow of shoppers but takes a commission and keeps the customer base. Your own store needs investment in promotion, but the customers and repeat sales stay with you.

How many products can the store hold?

The limit comes from the data source, not the store: a large catalogue is loaded by import from a spreadsheet or accounting system — nobody enters it by hand. In the estimate we fix the import volume and where photos and descriptions come from.

How do I promote an online store after launch?

We lay the foundations during development: category pages for search queries, meta tag templates, product structured data, speed. After that, SEO, ads and email do the work — we handle search and GEO separately, see our digital marketing page.
