GEO services: generative engine optimisation for your website

GEO (generative engine optimisation) is work on your website and on mentions of your company so that ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google and Yandex’s Alice AI are more likely to use your pages as sources and name you. We check what AI assistants say today when asked your customers’ questions, open the site to their crawlers, rewrite key pages around direct answers and measure visibility every month.

How GEO differs from SEO

SEO works towards a position in search results and a click. GEO works towards a fragment of your page appearing in an AI answer, with your company named in it. A model doesn’t take the whole page but a piece of it: a definition, a figure, a table row, an answer to a question. So that piece has to be easy to find and lift out without losing its meaning.

GEO doesn’t work without SEO. Google says that to appear in its AI features a page must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet. Yandex, the main search engine in Russia, says its Alice AI relies on sources that rank high in search. The second pillar is third-party sites: according to a 2025 study, AI systems cite independent articles, reviews and rankings noticeably more often than brands’ own sites. That is why our GEO is a layer on top of SEO, plus work on external mentions.

What nobody can promise: AI answers change over time and depend on personalisation, and nobody edits them by hand. What can be done is to make the site accessible to crawlers, give pages ready-made answers and get independent sources writing about the company — and then measure honestly how visibility changes.

When you need it

  • Customers ask ChatGPT or Alice “who does…” and “how much does … cost”, and AI assistants name your competitors.
  • The site ranks well in search, but AI answers don’t cite it.
  • It’s unclear whether the site is open to AI crawlers: a CDN or robots.txt may have blocked them without your knowledge.
  • AI assistants repeat outdated information about the company: old prices, addresses or services.
  • There are few mentions of the company on third-party sites — articles, rankings, directories.

What’s included

  • An answer check: 20–30 of your customers’ questions in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google and Alice AI — who gets named now and which pages are cited
  • Crawler access: robots.txt, CDN settings and server logs — whether OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and YandexAdditional reach the site
  • Reworked key pages: a direct answer in the first lines, one question per section, price and comparison tables, an FAQ block
  • schema.org markup and consistent company details across the site, directories and profiles
  • A plan for external mentions: industry media and platforms, agency ratings and directories — without fake reviews
  • Monthly measurements: a table of answers to your questions, traffic from AI assistants in your analytics, and the Alice AI visibility report in Yandex Webmaster

How we work

  1. 01. Answer check

We collect your customers’ questions and ask them in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google and Alice AI: who gets named, which pages are cited.

  2. 02. Technical audit

We check whether AI and search crawlers can see the site, whether key pages are indexed and whether the markup matches the copy.

  3. 03. Pages and mentions

We rewrite key pages around direct answers, add tables and questions, and prepare publications on third-party platforms.

  4. 04. Monthly measurements

We repeat the check with the same list of questions, review webmaster reports and traffic from AI assistants, and adjust the plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is generative engine optimisation, in simple terms?

It is work on your website and on mentions of your company so that AI assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Alice AI — are more likely to use your pages as sources and name you in their answers. At its core is ordinary SEO, plus pages with ready-made answers and publications on other sites.

What is the difference between GEO and SEO?

SEO works towards a position in search results and a click; GEO works towards a fragment of your page appearing in an AI answer. But GEO doesn’t work without SEO: Google and Alice AI take their sources from pages that already rank well.

Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend our company?

No, and nobody can. AI answers change over time and from user to user, and nobody edits them by hand. We promise a plan, work to that plan and monthly visibility measurements.

How can I check whether AI assistants mention my company?

Write down 20–30 customer questions, ask them in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Alice AI once a month and note who gets named. Traffic from AI assistants shows up in your web analytics, and if you target Russia, Yandex Webmaster has an Alice AI visibility report.

How do I get a new website noticed by AI assistants?

Start with third-party platforms: articles on industry sites, profiles in ratings and directories, comments for trade media. In parallel, build up the site’s own SEO — without search rankings, AI assistants won’t find it.

Does my site need llms.txt?

It isn’t essential: Google has said that AI systems don’t use it for now. We add it because it is cheap and does no harm, but we don’t promise any gain in visibility from it.

How much do GEO services cost?

The audit and plan are a one-off fee from $300–600; monthly SEO + GEO work starts at $400–800. Third-party publications are a separate budget; we give an exact quote after a brief.
