Chatbot development for business

Chatbot development is first of all flows, copy and integrations, and only then code. We build bots for Telegram, website chat and the Russian platforms MAX and VK: scripted bots for bookings, enquiries and order status, and AI assistants that answer from your knowledge base and hand tricky questions to a manager.

Types of chatbots

A scripted bot guides people through buttons and pre-written branches: book an appointment, check an order status, leave an enquiry. It’s predictable, inexpensive and rarely wrong, but gets lost when a customer writes in their own words. An AI assistant understands free text and answers from your materials — price list, delivery terms, instructions. It needs firm limits: without them the model can confidently invent an answer that isn’t in the knowledge base.

In practice a hybrid works best: buttons for typical paths, AI for free-form questions and a “Talk to a person” button when the bot isn’t sure. If the bot needs not only to answer but to act in your systems — create deals, change orders — that’s an AI agent.

A chatbot builder is a perfectly good choice for bookings, broadcasts and answers to common questions with standard integrations. Development is needed when the bot works with your accounting system, warehouse or customer accounts, calculates by your own rules, or customer data has to be stored on your side.

When you need it

  • Managers spend half the day answering the same questions: prices, delivery, opening hours.
  • Enquiries come in at night and at weekends, and nobody answers until the morning.
  • Customers book through chat, and an administrator checks free slots by hand.
  • Customers ask “where’s my order?”, and the status lives only in your accounting system.
  • Your bot built on a no-code platform has hit its limits: you need a link to your accounting system, CRM or own database.
  • All enquiries live in one messenger, and when it fails the company loses touch with its customers.

What’s included

  • A review of real customer conversations: the 15–30 most common questions the flows are built on
  • A dialogue map: what the bot asks, what it answers and when it hands the conversation to a person
  • Copy for answers and buttons, and for an AI assistant a knowledge base and rules on what it answers and what it doesn’t
  • The bot on the channels you need — Telegram, website chat, MAX, VK — on one engine and one knowledge base
  • Integrations with your CRM, booking calendar, payments and accounting system: an enquiry goes straight to a manager instead of staying in the chat
  • Consent to personal data processing built into the flow if the bot asks for a name and phone number
  • Analytics: which questions the bot didn’t understand, where people drop off, how many enquiries reached a manager

Pricing

  • Quick launch$300–800

A scripted bot on one channel: answers to common questions, bookings or enquiry collection, and handover to a manager.

  • Business growth$1,000–2,000

More flows and channels, integration with your CRM or booking calendar, broadcasts and conversation analytics.

  • Custom project$3,000–6,000

Several channels, payments, a customer account, integrations with accounting and internal systems, complex calculation logic.

These prices are for a scripted bot. An AI assistant that understands free text and answers from a knowledge base costs $1,000–2,000 at quick launch, $2,500–6,000 at business growth and from $8,000 as a custom project. Servers, subscriptions and per-request language model fees are separate, and we name them before we start; we give an exact quote after a brief.

How we work

  1. 01. Conversation review

We take a couple of months of real customer conversations, list the common questions and set a goal: for example, taking enquiries at night or freeing managers from routine questions.

  2. 02. Flows and knowledge base

We draw the dialogue map and write the copy. For an AI assistant we build a knowledge base and rules: where the bot answers itself and where it calls a person.

  3. 03. Development and testing

We connect the channels and integrations and run the bot on questions from real conversations, not invented ones.

  4. 04. Launch and refinement

We launch for part of your customers, see which questions the bot didn’t understand and where people leave, and extend the flows.

What we’ve done

All work
  1. Automation and AI

An AI agent that talks to buyers, books CDEK delivery and quotes its cost on its own

Connected every channel (the website, Telegram and Instagram): enquiries land in one system, and the AI agent replies wherever the buyer wrote.

  2. Websites and apps

A service that matches working secure connection services to the visitor’s carrier and region, plus a Telegram bot with the same matching

Matching by carrier and region via IP detection, a filtered catalogue, a Telegram bot and in-house analytics.

Frequently asked questions

How much does chatbot development cost?

A scripted bot costs from $300–800 at quick launch to $3,000–6,000 as a custom project; an AI assistant with a knowledge base starts at $1,000–2,000. Servers and language model fees are separate. We give an exact price after a brief.

Chatbot builder or custom development — which should I choose?

A builder is enough for bookings, broadcasts and answers to common questions with standard integrations — it’s a monthly subscription. Development is needed when the bot works with your accounting system, warehouse or customer accounts, calculates by your rules, or customer data has to be stored on your side.

How is an AI chatbot different from a regular chatbot?

A regular bot guides people through buttons and pre-written branches. An AI assistant understands a question asked in the customer’s own words and answers from your knowledge base, but it needs limits and a handover to a person when the answer isn’t in the base.

Which messengers do you build bots for?

Telegram and website chat, as well as MAX and VK, two platforms widely used in Russia. Under MAX’s rules, a bot there can only be connected by a Russian-resident company, sole trader or self-employed person. It works best when all channels run on one engine and enquiries go straight to the CRM.

Can a chatbot connect to our CRM and accounting system?

Yes — that’s usually the reason to order development rather than use a builder. The bot sends enquiries to the CRM, checks order status in the accounting system and books slots in the calendar.

Can I create a chatbot for free?

You can register a Telegram bot for free through @BotFather, and many builders have a free trial. But to keep it running you’ll need a subscription or a server, and an AI bot also needs per-request model fees.
